Living Heritage is our
construction company.
We have completed over 800 residential units with contract values between £5 million and £25 million. No matter the stage of our involvement, from pre-planning advice through to delivery, we have the capability and experience to deliver significant and complex projects.
Completing numerous repeat projects for all of our clients is a testament to the high quality of service we offer, the trust we have established and ultimately the enhanced value we bring to all schemes we undertake.

development company.
Specialising in the restoration and development of historic and Listed Buildings, we have won multiple awards for our ability to preserve heritage, create inspirational homes and generate value.
Completing projects from 5 to 130 units and experienced in collaborating with other developers, we have the resources to successfully deliver projects either individually or in partnership with others.
Our reputation for quality, design and attention to detail is unsurpassed.
Our Story
The group is comprised of a construction company, Living Heritage, and a development company, Gr8Space, that together have built a collective portfolio of over 1000 homes.
Founded in the 1980s by Chris and Anne Liddell, as forerunners in regeneration, the company specialised in individually-designed bespoke homes created from disused and semi-derelict listed buildings.
They were later joined by their son Nick (a Structural Engineer) and daughter Faye (an Architect) as Construction Director and Design Director respectively.
Nick took over as Group Managing Director in 2010 and launched our main contracting company in 2012. He has since forged new links with clients including the design-led retirement property developers PegasusLife (part of the LifeStory group) and urban regeneration specialist Eutopia Homes, while still continuing our listed building developments.
What began as an ambitious vision to transform neglected properties, has grown into an established regional business, with a solid reputation for quality, service and excellence.

Our Management Team
Group Managing Director
Nick Liddell
BSc (Hons) Struct. MIHT GMICE
After working as a consultant structural engineer, Nick joined the family business in 1994.
Working his way up from engineer, to estimator, and Construction Director, Nick was appointed Managing Director of the group in 2010.
With over 30 years experience in construction and development, Nick continues to uphold the values that the business was built upon, whilst driving the growth of the group.
Commercial Director
Simon Blackledge
R.IC.S
In 1984, Simon joined Francis Graves, progressing to Associate Director in 1998. After a brief period as Cost Manager to the PFI team at Wates Construction Ltd, he joined Naismiths Ltd in 2006 as Associate Director. Here he oversaw their professional services team, acting as employers' agents on schemes and providing bank monitoring services.
In 2007, Simon joined the Gr8Space group as Commercial Director.

Tom Deakin
BSc (Hons) MCIOB
Following his degree in Construction & Commercial Management Tom worked with Kier for over 12 years, rising through the ranks from site engineer to senior construction management positions. Joining our team in 2019, Tom has demonstrated exceptional performance in complex project delivery and client liaison and is now our Construction Director.
Highly motivated and driven, Tom has a wealth of experience across a number of construction sectors from heavy engineering through to high specification residential projects. He prides himself in delivering all of our projects on time and to an extremely high standard.
Creative Director
Sue Liddell
BSc (Hons) Struct.
After working as a consultant engineer on major international civil engineering projects in the early part of her career, Sue (Nick's wife) joined the company in 2012 to lead the design and specification of the group's own developments, developing and constantly updating our ‘house style’ and ensuring that the quality of our completed homes exceed our client's expectations.

Kelly Philpotts

Kelly has over 20 years experience in practice accounts and auditing and management accounting. She initially joined the team in 1999, before spending 5 years as UK Finance and Operations Manager for a US quoted group of companies. She then returned to Gr8Space in 2007 and now manages all of the group companies' accounts.
